bad luck

heres bad luck for you:
Last summer my g/f borrowed my car and someone backed into it.
i got insurance money and bought a body kit and cf hood.
when i got the cf hood, it was damaged.
i got a new cf hood.
i mounted the body kit and when i was wet sanding it there were 3 places about 3 inches by 5 inches that the fiberglass wasnt cured and i had to remold that.
i finally had the kit mounted and painted the whole car from gold to a candy apple red was waiting to put the hood on because i needed a new waterpump.
the day the tow driver came to get my car on the flat bed, i started it and it made a pretty loud clunk and stalled.
i brought it to my nearby dodge dealer to find out what was wrong. As teh tow driver pulled it off the flat bed he bottomed the car out and cracked the bottom edge of the kit. when it was finally in the shop i found out that it had jumped timing and bent more than half the valves in my heads.
I had my heads rebuilt and had the 120k tune up done all for about $3300. When the dodge place was working on my car the dumb mechanic kneeled on the kit and cracked it in 2 places.
I finally got the engine running decent and repainted and while it was drying my moms cat jumped up on it and but scratch marks down the fender. Finally i got the car completely painted and back together and i have been driving it for about 5 days....since the dodge dealer had it ive put on 150 miles.... but anyway ive driven it for 5 days and after the 4th day the oil light came on. i let the car sit for a couple hours checked the oil and it was brand new and full. i suspected a short in the oil pump or somethign. I drove it to a gas station nearby and while doing so ( at about 2500 rpms i noticed a loud knock....i have an appt at the doge place on the 22nd to look at it. to put this in perspective:

$900-paint and body supplies
$600-body kit
$650-cf hood
$3300-heads and 120k tune up
$300-spoiler

$5750 TOTAL invested in about 5 months and the best part is........i cant drive it STILL :-(
IT LOOKS REALLY SICK THO....ill post pics soon

Re: bad luck

is your oil presure low, or is just the light on. The wire could have come off the sender. Its right above the drives side axle.

oil pressure gauge shows it is fine....would that cause the "knocking at higher RPM'S?

You sure it isnt your valves pinging ? Maybe the guy didnt do your 120k tune up right. I went and did my 60k tune up and the guy did the timing belt all wrong and my valves were pinging at high rpms, so i had to get it redone.

Re: bad luck

valves pinging? wtf? why would they 'ping'? what is this 'ping'? if the valves were actually coming in contact with one another, then you'd know. and you'd have a bunch of bent valves that would need replacing.

the pinging sounds more like lifter tick.
