Unhappy My 2 Completed Models (Lancia 037 & Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V)

These are my 1st 2 built models. I built the mitsubishi about 5 years ago and the Lancia last year. I have been so dissaopionted in the end results I have 30 kits still unbuilt or partially built.

Hi,

since when do you built models? You cannot be new to the hobby, when you built the Evo 5 years ago.

I think the models are built box stock and donīt look bad, but always try to improve your skills.

F.e. sand the wheels to give them a used look, take time while blackening the window surroundings. Try to finish one model before you start with the next one.

Just a few hints, to which I stick still today ...

I consider myself new because these are the only 2 models I have built EVER. The Mitsubishi was my first attempt, Lancia the second. Thanks for the hints

OK, for your first 2 models these really arenīt bad. Nevertheless be critical to yourself ( in your comments I can see you are ) and try to improve model by model. Try to get hints from the other threads and take your time, than it will work....

Re: My 2 Completed Models

Hi Dave!

Welcome again! thanks for postiing the 037 (and
the reference linx).

I haven't built any rally kits yet but I'm guessing that they are much braver kits to try for your first models than the road cars I do. They have so many more details and decals to fight with - so well done!!

Like the guys before said, really spend a time looking at all the threads on this forum (even if the thread title sounds like something you aren't interested in) and you will pick up so many hints/tips/ideas that your building skills will improve overnight.

my piece of useless advice for the day: get tons of masking tape (ONLY Tamiya) and use it all the time, everywhere every time you are painting

look forward to seing your first "in progress" thread here
