'95 Suburban-front a/c works, no rear a/c

We just bought a '95 Suburban LS model. Owner said it was checked and needed freon. They had rarely used it the past year and a half (under 5K miles). I added freon and oil - got the front a/c to work and blow cold. It's still not blowing cold in the back - the fan works fine, but regardless of whether using front controls or rear, it just won't cool down. What should I look at next?

If you check both lines going to the rear while the a/c is on and both lines are warm, you have a falty txv.

thanks, but now what is a txv?

I believe that he is refering to the Expansion Valve for the rear. AC-Delco # 15-33154 "TUBE,A/C EVPR TXV With RPO RR AUX A/C(C69)"

I appreciate your responses - I was looking thru my Haynes manual which I've come to find doesn't discuss this expansion valve at all....is this something easily replaceable after discharging system? Is it in engine compartment or somewhere else?

The expansion valve (also known as the orifice tube) is inside the ac lines (on trucks without rear ac, then there is only one expansion valve).

You will need to evactuate the system, replace the expansion valve for the rear ac (or replace both!) , check for leaks, and recharge the system.

Again, thanks for info - is this expansion valve in the lines near the rear a/c controls? I looked through my Haynes manual, and I just as well be perusing Readers Digest when it comes to this. Is the access behind the rear ac controls, or over by a door? Doesn't look very simple from what I'm seeing.
