Door stuck shut-front passenger

Maxima 1995, GLE, 75,000 miles. The front passenger door will not open. It is electric and a click can be heard when the remote is used or the switch on the door panel is used, to no avail. I tried opening the door with the key with no luck. The electric window still works which has allowed me see between the outer door panel and the window while the window is fully down. I removed the rubber weather stripping which is located between the outer door panel and the window. With a high intensity light I can easily see the rods which open the door. I have pushed and pulled on them, but nothing works. I really don't what I should be doing with the mechanism once I have a tool in the area. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? I am trying to avoid damaging the inner door panel by prying it off while the door is stuck shut.

If it helps: youre not the first tHere. My guess is u have to pry panel open. Maybe front seat off first (Take batt off 30min before touching air bag wires). Then door seals, handle, panel.
