95' S10 2.2 Fuel Pump constantly runs...

Weird problem. On my 1995 S-10 2.2L, after I turn off the ignition and have my keys in hand, the fuel pump continues to run. It will run until it kills the battery. Only way to stop it is to pull fuse #9 in the cab. Any ideas? Could a faulty fuel pump relay cause this? On this truck, the realy is in the glove box, right? Any ideas would be great, thanks!

no the relay shouldnt even have power to it when off. id start with ignition switch. that would be the only thing i could think of that would be at fault. somehow when you shut it off the switch isnt shutting the pump off.

On some vehicles there is a oil pressure switch that powers the fuel pump when there is oil pressure. I am not sure about the wiring, but maybe it could be doing it.

Thanks for the replies, I will try to check both those possibilities this weekend.
