The Service Engine soon light on my 1995 Saturn SCP has turned on three times in the past 2 weeks. When the light turns on I am unable to roll down my windows and also unable to turn on my AC fan (which is not fun during hot summer months).
I took my car to a Saturn dealer who said the code was a 26 and a 27. They then replaced my Canister Purge Solenoid and my EGR Solenoid as well as two of my Coolant Sensors and their connectors. Three days after the repair, the Service Engine Soon light appeared and I experienced the same symptoms with the windows and AC Fan. Does anybody know what may be causing these problems? |

Re: service engine light mystery
A code 26 is a Quad Driver output fault. Follow this link for more info. http://www.differentracing.com/tech_...es/dtc/26.html

Re: service engine light mystery
i beleave the tech misdiagnosed your problem. if he would have researched a little more he would have found a technicial service bulletin that discribes your problem to a T. the technicial service buttetin number is 96-T-50 or 96-T-50A (MIL ON - Intermiddent loss of power to accessories). the correction listed in the TSB is to modify the ignition switch. i would go back to your Saturn dealership, and talk to the Service Manager(or one of the Service Writers/Advisors if he is not availible, but perferribly the Service Manager) expain to him that your previous visit did not solve the problem, and take to him ether this post or at least the number listed above saying some random saturn crazy guy online thinks it may be the root of your problem. he should be able to take care of the problem from there.
good luck.

Re: Re: service engine light mystery
Thanks for the input, it's really appreciated. I'm taking my car back to Saturn today and hopefully this will get straightened out over the weekend. This should be fixed under warranty especially since it seems like they didn't really look into the problem in the first place. *crossing fingers*
