cuts out @ full throttle

ok, so my problem is i have a 94 Geo Metro, runs pretty decently until you shift and push the gas further than about half way. The car begins to spuuter like it is going to cut out, I let out the gas pedal and all is well, I slowly try to push it back further and it starts to cut out again. A few times I pushed the gas further than halfway and it started to go, but then my car violently sputtered and cut out. I'm thinking that there is something majorly wrong ... I'm also not good with diagnosing problems, ANY help would be awesome.

sounds like a bad TPS to me. Or a mis-aligned one. Does it cut out under load too? or just under heavy throttle.

Re: cuts out @ full throttle

well sometimes it cuts out under heavy throttle no matter what sort of load there is ... most of the time it is just me, and it doesnt matter if its going down hill or up ... sometimes it really gets up and goes, sometimes it stutters, sometimes it stutters violently, but keeps running. I was thinking it probably has something to do with fuel delivery.

If you haven't done so recently, replace the fuel filter by the tank.
