the most power out of a stock engine?
hey guys,
I finally paid off my 1995 Sebring Lxi and Im putting it out for sale. I can finnaly buy what I always wanted, 1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, 5 speed. I heard that it is better to go with an early 1992 than the late model because of the fly wheel. My question is: What is the most power that I can get out of the stock engine? I would like to add some stuff to it. What would I have to do? Whats the best turbos? I would appreciate any suggestions....Thanx alot.... |

I am new myself to the mod scene. One thing that I do recommend is read the 1000 FAQ thread. It has links to the 1G and 2G upgrade paths. There is all kinds of info there. Has worked great for me. The FIRST thing I would recommend that you do when you get your vehicle, is to get it serviced. Do a complete service on it first. Belts, hoses etc; That will be the first thing these guys tell you and it will be the first thing you see in the FAQ's Good luck!! 1997 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD K&N FIPK The rest is stock but not for LONG!!

On stock internals you can launch yourself into the 400+ hp range. That should be enough, for now
. Servicing first is a good idea. Look particularly into the timing belt, and the mods that go along with it. There are many good guides to follow for modding, 1000aaq will work fine. A thread above this, in the sticky section, lists a number of sites worth checking out. Welcome to DSMs!

Re: the most power out of a stock engine?
This applies for so many questions:
By the time you're making anywhere near enough power to break something, you'll already know about it! Anyway, stock engines can do a lot... and near stock 1g's on average can be pretty quick (12's). |
