Question One side of truck sits higher

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2 wh Dr. ext cab that sits 1 inch higher in front on the passenger side. Have you guys seen this? Is this a problem?

Thanks for your comments,

May the force be with you,

Don

has the truck been in an accident? have you ran over anything? have you checked all the air pressure? are all the tired the same size? i really dont know what else unless something is bent or broke. could check your shocks and springs and bushing in the front end linkage.

Re: One side of truck sits higher

My 2002 sits crooked as well, I would of thought they had this fixed by now. I have read different forum articles about this but I can't remember whether there was a definite answer on a cause or solution.

Re: One side of truck sits higher

My '04 sits high on the passenger side rear. Go figure. If it gets to be too much of an eyesore, I'll make a spring spacer to level it. Since yours is in the front, you might check the sway bar links on the front end, and make sure they are adjusted even. you might even try adjusting them. It's an old racer's trick to adjust some wedge into the car. But since the truck is so new, I'd have the dealer try the adjusting. I would think it would fall under a warranty issue.

if its under warranty go to the stealer and make them work for the money they robb us out of every time we go. if no warranty then go to like a auto body shop and see what they say.

Worst thing you can ever do is take a tape measure to your rig. I work for an air suspension supplier, and previously at a GMC dealer for 12 years. You'd be hard pressed to find any vehicle that sat level once you measured it.

You didn't measure from the bumper to the ground did you? Bumpers are rarely even. You should measure at the fender opening to the ground through the hub center.

One way or another, let the dealer straighten it out if you want to persue it and it is under warranty.

Gas tank on the Driver Side throws part of the Vehicle off balance.... I notice mine sits a little lower on the Drivers said with a full tank of gas.

It shouldn't. The factory is supposed to compensate for the weight of a full gas tank. But you are right, a full tank of gas is over 200 pounds.

The 1" offset is known as the "Chevy Lean". S-10s do it and so do the new Silvys. Chevy just can't get their shit together.
