What's causing the noise coming from the air filter housing? Does it when my 1997 4.0 XLT Extended A-star gets warmed up. I think the box vibrates when air goes through it but WHY? Can it be corrected? Only has 77k on it.

Howl
Most likely it's your Idle Control Valve. Two screws, an electric plug, and about $50 fixes this.

howling noise
Hello there take the air filer out and check the bolts on the box to make sure it is tight. I had the same problem if that is tight then it is the airflow sensor but they are only about 25.00 at advance auto napa is 30.00 let me know if this helped travis
