What to look out for?

I'm looking at a '91 MPV v6 AT AWD 116K mi. the body is in fair to good shape (v. little rust) $2500 in recent repairs t-belt, water-pump, idler and tensioner, exhaust, all belts, some seals, trans. fluids and brake fluid...includes Thule roof rack
There is a little (valve?) knock under load and the leveler light blinks intermittently.
What are the major prob. areas w/ this vehicle?
Hows the reliablity?
I need these answers soon

tranmission is known to be problematic.

and 2500USD seems a bit high

I brought a 1994 3.0 RWD when it was new

and recently brought another one. It is a 90 LX 4WD for $3000CAD

After putting about 100 miles on the mpv this weekend I have passed on it and am going to buy my dad's Ford(ah) Explorer. Thanks for your input.
