Question ok, B16A or B18B (si trany)?

Ok i have been reading that the B18B with a B16 trany will take a B16A. I may just get a B18C5 and be done with it, but it will all depend on how much i get for my mitsu. O yeah I am not bench racing, just don't wanna spend all that money on a B16 and get walked by a B18.

the car is a 1991 crx dx.

Re: ok, B16A or B18B (si trany)?

Depends on many factors.

the Cable JDM S1/J1 is probably the best All motor tranny out there... very High sped... but highway driving on it sucks.

the Cable USDM A1 is a very good Turbo Tranny, very long gears, High Top speed, over all desent for daily driving and highway.

The transmission can be the determining factor in a race... but all depends on your setup.

the JDM S1/J1 have pretty much the same gearing as the ITR/CTR tranny just they don't have a LSD... and are Cable not Hydro... but they are getting harder to find these days.

I personly like the B18 trannys better. The B16 tranny is really just good for 1/4 miles. But when your doing 80 on the highway like kunundrum said it will suck. Your RPM's are high meaning worse gas milage and your muffler louder then your stereo (unless you have a queit exhaust)

B16 tranny = faster

Why do a swap if you don't care about going the fastest you can be going for the money?!

Re: ok, B16A or B18B (si trany)?

its been argued to death, but in my experience, a b16 with a b16 tranny will own an LS with a b16 tranny 10 times out of 10.
