Unhappy Engine light is on

My Engine light is on for a while. I want to know how can I make a diagnosis by myself first before I took it to a shop.

I have a Hayne's manual, but I couldn't find which two terminals I should bridge in order to read the flashing diagnositic code off the panel. It says I should bridge E1 and T terminals, but I don't know where are they.

Thanks.

Go to www.tercelonline and you will find a diagram with the terminals you need. somewhere in there they have what you need.
