Angry Passenger Sliding door stuck closed

Help!

I have a 2002 Odyssey with the passenger side sliding door stuck closed.
The door will not work with interior switch, remote or manually.

Have tried force and nothing will open the door.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Passenger Sliding door stuck closed

With the switch turned on does the yellow lite that says sliding doors light up? If so then the door is disabled because there is a code stored. Try removing the number 13 fuse in the under dash fuse box on the passenger side for 30 sec and see if it resumes.

Does it beep or anything when you pull on the handle or just stay there?

Passenger sliding door stuck closed

Thanks for your reply!

There was no beep, in fact when moving the inside or outside handle it felt that it was not making mechanical contact.

I took the inside panel off and found that the cable that connects to the door handles was stuck. After I corrected it everthing seems to be back to normal.

Not sure what could have caused this. I'm leaving the panel off for a while in case it happens again.

fixed broken 2001 odessey door

My passenger side sliding door also broke in that it wouldn't move or make any noises when I tried either the remote or inside switch. I suspect it was broken by my 4-year-old always fussing with the handle when the car was moving or at other times when the door was not supposed to open. I was resigned to taking it in for service as soon as I found the time.

The other day I left the dome lights on; the battery died and I had to take the battery out to recharge it. Ever since doing that, the door works perfectly. I suspect by removing the battery, I essentially re-booted the door system????

One caveat--I have an anti-theft system on the audio system and I couldn't find the code! I forgot about that. But I learned that the serial number of the radio was on a sticker in the glove box. Also, both the serial number and code were on a sticker on the inside of the fuse box cover. I guess each dealership has its own fallback system for these codes (my dealership didn't have the code in their system for some strange reason (the car was originally bought there)).
