A5D transmission

my friend has a transmission for a b-series but he is not sure what motor it was originally for. Guy who sold it to him told him it was for a jdm crx b-16 but he wants to be sure, on the transmission it has A5D Printed in big black letters.

Can anyone confirm what motor that trans goes with?

Re: A5D transmission

all B series trannys start with an S or a Y. unless you are giving us the wrong code, that is not a B series tranny.

Re: A5D transmission

what an old thread.

anyways,if the a5d is on the bell housing or on top of the diff on the gear side casing, then, it is most likely a y80 tranny (hydro ls).........................hey, maybe thats why it bolted to your b18b1 i remember seeing the number somewhere before.
