Be carefull when removing batt and cables

Always take off negative battery cable first. I Always take off the neg batt cable first but got a little careless and allowed the neg batt cable get to close to the batt neg and it sparked.. No big deal right.. well the dash custer guages got jumped to under the pegs .. What it does is sends enough volts to make them jump out and go back in under the pegs. You have to remove the cluster which can be a little problem if you have not done it before. Just keep this in mind for the future. Make sure your neg batt is clear of any ground sorce before removing the pos cable will save you a headache later. keep in mind this was not a short just a jump in voltage because of the double tap the neg cable made. You may have done this many times before on other cars just dont do it on the malibu.. Hope this helps
