Headliner replacement?

I have a 1997 Passat GLX VR6 with a sunroof and the headliner is about 50% off, with the rest falling quickly. I tried reglueing it (without removing the headliner) and this turned out horrible, because I couldn't get it lined up properly and it looked terrible. It also didn't last very long. Anyway, I plan on removing the whole thing and putting new cloth on it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I need to do to actually remove the headliner. Just from looking, it seems that I need to remove the handles above the door in the backseats, the sun visors in the front, and a few other things. It looks like I also need to remove the plastic that covers the seat belt housing and goes all the way up to the ceiling. I'm not really sure how to do any of this and I don't want to break stuff . Can someone give me a step by step (screw by screw?) account of what exactly I need to do to remove the headliner?
