Frustration

I broke one of the thermostat bolts because that stupid piece of shit froze inside. And then I took the TPI apart and trided to unbolt the manifold-11 bolts came out exept one that again froze inside. I broke several torx bits trided every conventional methode to remove it. Now Iam drilling the thermostat bold out on the engine-takes forever. Is it just me? Any suggestions are welcomed.

nope not just you.......most of this week iv'e been pulling broken bolts out of my heads on my 2.8........the junkyard who took it out ( i have no idea somewhere in kentucky) tried to take the exhaust manifolds off my engine, They broke about every other bolt off on one side and got that side off , then they went around to the other side and tried to take that manifold off and broke more bolts......im guessing they gave up and left one exhaust manifold on.......2 of them were the worst ........we drilled a hole down the middle of the bolt...and stuck a E Z-OUT in it and broke 2 off inside the bolt.....then we broke a tap off.....( goodluck drilling through those) what we did was drill the bolt hole out bigger and stuck a HELI-COIL in it ( thread insert) works fine....also a water pump bolt was stuck and we was just rounding off the head so we just drilled the head of the bolt off and took the water pump off....and unscrewed it with vise-grips.............I share your pain too my dad helped and he is great at getting bolts out..but this one is the toughest he ever helped on.......Iv'e been frustrated all week too

try using a propane torch (settling torch if you have one) and heat the bolt til it's red hot, then instantly pour warm water on it to cool it off, for some reason it always works to break the bolt away from the block. Then use vice grips. If the bolt is sheered off flat with the surface or deeper and the E-Z out will not work the best thing to do is the Heli-Coil, I grew up working in my grandpa's shop and the Heli-Coils work great! especially if you've got steel bolts going into aluminum, but make sure that you tap the hole squarely, and don't drill too deep! That part cannot be stressed enough, NEVER drill too deep! lol

Well I havent broken any bolts but the master cylinder on my new car screwed up and locked my front calipers up and toasted the whole front brake assembly. A little over 300 dollars later and a couple hours of frustration in dealing with discount and them not having a matching bearing for the hub. Anyone else have that problem? I had the same problem when I did the bearing on my 89 camaro. I go to the parts store and the outer bearing that they have listed does not fit in the hub. I finally found the right size at autozone but it wasnt the one that they had listed for the car. I just matched the serial numbers stamped on the bearing.

Ifinally got that sucker off and drilled 3 bolts out and tapped holes. Now the funny thing-I broke one of the bolts that hold my tps in place and other two on the iac in the throtel body.
Honestly it is the first car that gave so many problems like that. I think its due to the fact previous owners have been running the car hot all its life.
