Which F1 is this?

I found this picture in another forum. It was I believe taken yesterday at a charity show at an art center in Pasadena. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...r/IMG_9611.jpg

Edit: Gordon Murray was supposedly there as a speaker! http://www.artcenter.edu/carclassic/

I will find more pictures and post them in this thread.

I was there, as was SD_F1 and tvrfreak even showed up.

tvrfreak and I spent almost an hour sitting down with Gordon in the hospitality tent talking about the F1 and other things.

It was a wonderful day and a once in a lifetime experience I think. I have photos, of course, and will share them soon.

Re: Which F1 is this?

Peloton, did you guys ask about the black LMs? What did you guys talk about? Did you tell him about the forum? Did you invite him here (although I'm sure he has better things to do)? Does he still have his trademark mullet?

Ok, I need to back away from the computer now. I just think it's amazing that one of our regulars met the man himself.

Tell us everything. Details, details, details!!!!

Re: Re: Which F1 is this?

Peloton, you are only the man to be able to gratify our various curiosity that each of us as called enthusiast in some points about Mclaren F1 definitely have, besides, you know better than us in Mclaren F1 in particularly. Eventually, in other word, what you are supposed to say is parts of what we want to know all things related to Mclaren.

However, if you had personal talk with Gordon , then what i really wonder is that the reason why Gordon Murray quited his carrier of in Mclaren during almost 2 decades and which that was his own decision or kind of wordless pressure from Mclaren, and in a certain dispute happened when SLR project was on the way in cooperation with both of two, Mclaren and Mercedes Benz, Gordon Murray kept to push the project by the end or stopped in the mid of that, which query should have been handed over to you before you went there if not done. You just told us . "Well I do know one person who will not miss this opportunity for the world." i didn't know that it was you, above sentence pointed out you?

Anyway i envy you so much, indeed look forward to hearing what happened in there, anything.

I'm just going to stick in a quick response to apologize. I'm not holding out on you guys, I have just been very busy these past two days. I'll try to get the full experience detailed here by this evening.

No test drives were available, but as you can see Leno's #015 was there on display. I tried to speak with Leno, but it just proved to be nearly impossible. Everyone there knew who he was and wanted an autograph or a photo with him.

I did take lots of photos of his car and since I ran home for lunch today I thought I would take the time to at least resize and host one of them for now.

WoW! Sounds like you were on a real treat with this Art Center exhibit. From seeing the first pictures of this event some years back I always knew it was something special.

I wouldn't worry about not having spoken to Jay. Man! You talked to Gordon! For an hour!! How cool is that. I'm guessing you didn't talk about your city sedan, NSX's (well, maybe, didn't he have one?) and the weather, so I'm hoping to see this forum being provided with some nice new information.

And oh.....about your photo.....WOW! (again). Very nice shot. Perfect front angle. Not too much people around, very clear and colourful....I like, I like!

Looking forward to your other shots!

Erik, I spoke with Jay and he has 6200 miles on #15, he actually drove it there with his mechanic riding shotgun. I watched him pull out and the car actually took those speedbumps with grace. Michigan plates are for easy registration.

Cool - I'm glad someone got to speak with Jay about the car. I tried once, but as I stated, he was getting mobbed. I really felt bad for him.

I had hoped to try and talk to him again after Murray's speech, but I needed to run down to the car to get my laptop first and by the time I returned Jay had left in the car already.

Plates are actually from Massachusetts where Jay is originally from.

Yeah, his entourage passed us on the "bridge" after the lecture. Got to chat a little but not much. He was going to open the engine up but ran out of time. Have a couple of phone camera shots of him getting in etc. I will try to get those posted. Yeah Mass. not Michigan DUH.
