Brake pads on a 1993 pontiac sunbird
I'm trying to replace the brake pads (front pads)., I've a manual for the books, but the photos with the book are vague.
Has anyone got a simple, quck way of changing them. (I do have a c-clamp). Help anyone, I'm trying to keep this project cheap as possible. thank you |

Re: Brake pads on a 1993 pontiac sunbird
These pads are quite simple. Simply remove the mounting bolts, I can't remember if these take a socket or Torx bit to remove. Once they are removed, compress the piston back into the caliper. If you have ABS don't compress the fluid back into the system due to contamination. Open the bleeder screw and allow the fluid to escape. Remove the old pads, put the new ones in. If the new pads don't come with shims use quiet stop on the back of the pads, prevents squeeling. Lubricate the bolts with brake lube, reinstall the rotor. Once everything is back on, bleed the brakes and you should be finished.
