Need Help

I have already posted this problem, but I still haven't gotten any suggestions to solve my problem. I have a 1991 S10 Blazer 4x4 4.3L. One day, the engine suddenly shut off. All power to the ignition circuit has been lost. I still have interior lights, headlights, horn, etc. I have replaced the ignition switch and the starter solenoid which has changed nothing. There is power to the starter and I can jump the starter at the solenoid and it will spin, but there's no power from starter to ignition circuit. Are there any fuse links or relays that could be blown? If so, where are they located?

It's tough to loose all power to the starter since that's where your big + battery cable ends (at least on my 85)

This might not apply to yours again, but My truck has a 20 amp fuse that runs the ignition, gauges, R-Defrost, Auto transmission, cruise control

If you want I can send you a copy of the fuse box page of my owners manual, but it's 6 years older so it probably changed during that time.

You misunderstood. I didn't loose power to the starter. The power was lost between the starter and the ignition. There's plenty of juice going from the battery to the starter. I have checked all fuses in the fuse panel and none are blown.

have you traced the wire from the s side(switch) of solinoid? thats the one going to ignition switch. trace that wire and look for breaks in it. also there are wires under the carbet in passenger side, see if they are ok as well. they tend to rub on floor pan and wear off coating
then bare wires hit the metal.
just some ideas. i dont think that there are any fuseable links other than some trucks have them at the battery. i have a 91 as well and there are none.

I was afraid that was what someone would suggest...LOL. Wiring can be a nightmare. I will check it out. I'll keep you posted.

it is a nightmare isnt it. i hate it. i miss the simple old cars with straight up easy systems. now its like digging though a pot of colored noodles.

the 1 thing that I really don't understand about some people is how they can build a Street Rod (like my old classics) and have an Electrical shop spend a week putting in a modern F.I. system.
Then they seem lost during their first break down (not to mention thousands poorer during that same break down)

Sounds about like the problem I had with my 96. I replaced the battery, starter, and was ready to replace the steering column. Turned out it was the neutral switch on the transmission. Replaced it and all is good. Took a damn month to figure it out.

Almost forgot, I also replaced the starter relay just for good measure. Check for power at the relay. If the neutral switch is bad, you shouldn't get power at the relay when the key is turned to START.
