84 Caprice stalk mounted wiper problems
Let me try this again. My windshield wiper control is on the directional stalk. The knob just spins, I have no detent clicks. The lowest delay and lowest wiper "on" position work as well as the pulse for the washer. I can only turn it off from under the hood.
Any suggestions? So far I don;t see any parts listed for this condition, do I need to get another steering column or is there something available from a Chevy parts counter? Thanks, Bob [email protected] |

Re: 84 Caprice stalk mounted wiper problems
easy fix, easy swap, it comes off withotu taking much of the column apart at all, lol
no you wont need a new column lol do need to know basics of taking steering wheel off and steering lock plate off and turn signal switch removal, its not hard and wheel puller and lockplate depresser are 15 each at auto zone, etc.

I got as far as getting the wheel off...
I had it stripped down to the turn signal gizmo. I have both pullers here. I googled the part I needed and came up with the cruise control arm with wiper delay for only $35, now the question is how much further do I have to pull the thing apart?
Thanks, Bob |
