CD-Drive crapped out

This morning I was trying to to re-install RCT3. I needed to install directx 9. after my pc restarted i kepy gettin the message PLEASE INSERT CORRECT DISC. What the hell... the cd-rom will eject and that's about it. I can put in a cd and it wont even show it under My Computer. I tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail. Oh yea... this morning I did a system recovery. I put all my limewire files on a cd and totaly reastarted the pc. It has dual hard drive where one has all the factory settings on it. Would that be messing it up? I did that to remove a virus that norton wouldnt get off. it was called bloodhound i believe.Sorry for making so many new threads lately. Thanks in advance. The model of my cd drive is ASUS CRW-4824AH if that helps
