Running Amp cables

I'm just wondering where you guys run the power cord from your battery into the cab, and where you're grounding the amp?

Thanks!

i ran mine trough where the antenna goes. just trim the grommet a little. the best place to ground the amp is the bolt that holds down your seatbelt..... although any bare metal will work

I also ran my through the antena groemnt, I just pulled the groment out, and wraped both in wire loom.

You can find this wire right under the coolant resivor tank...

Re: Running Amp cables

I drilled a hole in the firewall (from the inside out) where the passenger is least likely to put his feet. However, I'm running 1/0 guage power wire. If you're running a smaller wire, I'd go through an existing grommet if possible. I'm grounding on a bolt that attaches to bare metal behind the back seat.

I actually ran mine up over the fender down inside of the cab, and I cut a very little part of the front sill there, and ran it down inside of that, along with my remote and RCA's then from there underneath the carpet and cut the carpet underneath the seat where the amp sits.

If you are running any kind of serious power or wanting to get good sound quality you should always keep the rca's and speaker wires away from the power wire otherwise you could get interference.

That is true, but I have ran 4 gage and had not had that problem...not saying it cant happen (because it very easily can) it just hasnt happend to me yet... I just pulled off the floor bored,4 screw, and ran the wires under their... As for a ground, I usually use a bolt on the seat post. The less you slice up your car, the better.
