98 Ford Contour engine mounts?

I don't know much about this particular vehicle other than 4 banger, under 45,000 mi.,recent tune up and new MAF, throttle cleaned at that time. Lady took it in for oil/filter change, tech told her motor mounts were going to need changed soon as they were wearing out. Is this a normal problem with the Contour? There is however a consistant problem with engine which seems like a miss only when heater or air conditioner is on during pulling away from stop. Plug wires were ohm tested during tune up as well. Cannot replicate same feel pulling one at a time. Any thoughts welcome, Thanks, Dave
