Re: air intake ques need advice

1. Carb certified means it is legal as far as Cali emissions are concerned. However, I have heard some stories of the cali inspectors being pricks and still failing a car with one. I don't live in CA, so I don't know. But that is what it is supposed to mean.

2. Injen, K&N...all the same. An intake is an intake. Size is about all that matters.

3. When it comes time for inspection, yes you could easily swap your stock intake back on, if you didn't destroy it in the process of removing it. And you will pass. Swapping back and forth has no ill-effects whatsoever, and doesn't take all that long.

4. You may get a slight increase in gas mileage, and possibly 1-3hp. But you wont notice any hp gains, only a more aggressive engine sound.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
