Question wont stay running

i have a 97 sl1 sohc with 140k. it runs but has oil in water. i think it may be blown head gasket. i also have 95 sl1 dohc with 53k. it was wrecked 5 years ago and has sat in my yard. it ran fine then. i want to swap motors. when i went to start the 95 it wouldnt. if i pour gas into air intake it will fire up. i think it may be fuel pump. could it be anything else cause of long sit? any help on either car or the motor swap will help.

Re: wont stay running

you should be able to hear a quiet whine from the fuel tank for the first two seconds the key is turned to on. that whine is the fuel pump running to prime the system. is gas is 5 years old? i've never been a big fan of the old gas theory, but in your case it may be(i have used 3 year old gas before just fine)check all fuses (mainly the injectior fuse and fuel pump fuse). if you have a NOID light check for injectior signal. if you have a fuel pressure tester check your pressure and if your tester has a drain valve, pull a fuel sample and check for water in the fuel.
