H.I.D. Conversion

I searched to see if this topic had already been put out and couldn't find anything. I have a 2000 Jimmy and have seen what I think was the same body style Envoy or Diamond edition with the OEM H.I.D. lights. My question is since they are the exact same fit headlight assembly can they be purchased new/used and installed on my truck. Is the harness same or different? I know they have had some problems reported with the lights and may annoy some people but I have been in several cars with these H.I.D. lights and they do a much better job.
