knock 2001 2.4 es galant

i have a 2001 galant 2.4.it knocks after motor warms up 3 to 5min then goes away after 5 to 10 min of runing sometimes it comes back slightly.dealer replaced timeing belt, but that was not it.dealer said it could be a normal sound for this motor.i notice it goes away for the most part when a/c is turned on.car has 50,000 on it.anyone have this problem or can give some insight would be great.

If you are talking about a tappety sound (clicking or ticking from the top of the engine) then it is probably your hydraulic lifters. A few good oil flushes and some hydraulic lifter treatment should sort the problem, but the sound is more of a problem than the engine getting premature wear.
