last year of factory tbi head 305 engines with carb intake installed ?

anbyone know what year was the last for the tbi heads run with aluminum 4bbl intake and Q jet in the B bodies ?

was at least through end of 06/1988 i know

i had no idea carbs were still installed by gm factory as late as 6/88

88 would have been the last year for carbs in a non-wagon b-body. 89 started with TBI for the v-8 engines. TBI started on the v-6s as far back as 85 I think.

TPI was started in 85 i know

TBI was 87 AFAIK and i know that all the trucks 87 are TBI factory,

so cars just throw me for a loop in 87-88 maybe 89-90 too

wierd,,,

is there a rule of thumb as to what chevy v8 cars got TBI and what got carbs in the 87-up years

As far as Caprices go:

4.3L V6 (262) got TBI in 1985. 5.7L (350) retained carb through 1988. In 1989, both 5.7L (350) and the re-introducted 5.0L (305) got TBI. The 5.0L (307) retained carb until 1991 when it got TBI also.

89 began TBI on all 305 ?
