'59 Vette WIP

Hi everybody, it's about time I got back to drawing cars again. This one will be a gift for my art teacher who I had for 4 years. so far there's no rendering done yet, just the outline. Any comments or critism would be appreciated.

Alex

Re: '59 Vette WIP

Hi everybody, and thanks for the comments.

Girlbear: You should do a Vette. I'm sure it would look great!

Here's an update. So far I'm using about 4 different shades of blue, 4 shades of grey, white, brown (for the chrome) and some black. Btw, these are all Prismacolor pencils.

The hood still has some work to be done - I need to add more layers of color and fix up certain spots.

Also, here's a concept rendering I did a few weeks ago. It's done in airbrush mixed with prismacolor. (first time trying a 3/4 view with airbrush)

Unbelievable. I wish I could render stuff like that with colored pencils...or a computer.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll post an update tomorrow since my scanner isn't working today for some reason.

Alex, that looks amazing.

So the trick is to layer the color pencils (lightly at first) and not just go right out for a dark deep tone?

Hey man check your perspective on both tires (tread touching the ground). They do not match/flow with the perspective of the body of the car esp. the front bumper and front tire. Just trying to help.

Take care

Al
