Question Engine Lid Fans...

For the dual fan shroud engine lid thingy's .... how bad does water get in the engine compartment when it rains? Is there a cover or something that you can put over the spark plug wires to block water from dripping into the spark plug area? Thanks

Re: Engine Lid Fans...

the fans are puller fans and the rain will not get in the engine bay because it will blow the water up and not down. and areodynamicly, water rarely gets on the engine cover to get in there. so you can drive it in the rain. just dont chill out in the rain and u will be fine.

Re: Engine Lid Fans...

If engine lid fans are used they should be pushers.
You want to push the hot air up and out of the engine bay. The "natural" air flow of the MR2's engine bay is from the sides and bottom up through the top.

Re: Engine Lid Fans...

Yea i know how they work and that the engine doesn't get wet while moving but my concer was like when its parked at work because i have a cover at my house and the mall lol i park under ground .... black on black is hot so i always park there .... but i was thinking of making some sort of guard for the plug wires .... if it was pouring how bad would the spark plugs be affected? i also have seen people put fans behind the factory guard ... how effective is that?
