Knock like a piston-slap, or more a rattle like a valve out of adjust? Either could be oil feed restriction.

Perhaps an engine flush might take care of it.

ah, K, sounds like an oil-starve problem. Your ride seems too new to have any bad wear prob. [though it is possible].

I'd still think a good engine flush would help out, though I unsure what type of valve-lift system the 02's use, I believe it OHC direct sans lifters. I may be wrong, there, though.

I'm not very knowledgeable on the new ones, but if it was a lifter going bad, they do usually make noise until they pump up again. But if the cam directly contacts the valve stems, then forget all that.

My 2002 GT did the same all the time, and have read of others doing it too, so I think it's just one of the wonderful traits of the engine... Any leaks on the LIM yet?
