Altenator questions
i have a 91 tsi and the altenator belt just was recently replaced due to it snapping off somewhere, but the altenator is a little rough to turn and gives a squeak every rotation, and on cold starts the belt or something gives a loud screech for 2 seconds, do i have to replace the altenator or what else could i do for that?

I had this problem in my car once, it's the bearing in the alternator. I'm guessing your power steering probably leaks? But anyway, because of that, the alternator began to overcharge and eventually fried the hell out of my battery. I'd take it somewhere and just get it checked before it fucks up some electricals, cause that's a way more expensive fix.

i think what im going to do is buy a 20 buck one off ebay that has be tested and works and put it in, if that doesn't work i can go buy the new one, but if it does that saved me $100 + so oh well
