|
Cruise control Not working and it sucks on long drive to work
The fuse is good and cruise control is not working. Any ideas please help. My wife is going to kill me soon if I don't fix it soon.

Usually they have a Vacuum hose on the actuator somewhere , check that out see if its cracked or come off...
Just a thought though , i dont work on Escorts that much. Wollf |

Check that the brake lights work. They disengage the cruise control when you step on the brakes. If not working, cruise won't engage.

Couldn't resist LOL! Seriously, I think there is also a switch on the clutch pedal if you have a manual tranny. I don't know about Escort but the cruise controls that I have worked on before had a speedometer cable running to them. Sometimes they'd break. It is independent of the main speedometer cable so the speedo would still work. With all the computerized stuff they probably don't do it that way anymore.
