A/C question?
Ok Guys: Here's my A/C issue/question...
The A/C in my 96 GAGT 2.4L is not blowing cold air. I do not thing that there is a leas because the compressor clutch is engaging, since the system is under pressure, if there was a leak then the pressure switch would not allow the compressor to engage. I also know that the system can not "leak a little" so if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear all of your ideas and suggestions (Tam & Lee keep your suggestions clean) (I know you two well enough to have an idea of what some of your suggestions will be.) Thanks |

Re: A/C question?
The system can engage even with low pressure if the low pressure switch is faulty. The system sounds like it's low. Check the pressure and recharge it if low.

Re: A/C question?
Dan, didn't you recharge it not too long ago?

The clutch will engage with as little as 15psi in the low side, and you don't get cold air out of it. I would attach a pressure gauge to the low side, you should have around 30 psi with the compressor running and the engine at idle. My 95 seems to perform best around 30, and I do believe that its the same system from 92-98...

Re: A/C question?
Knife, I didn't recharge the A/C, I've never had a problem with it until last week.
Thanks for the info. guys. I'll check out the low side as soon as I can. |
