A/C question?

Ok Guys: Here's my A/C issue/question...

The A/C in my 96 GAGT 2.4L is not blowing cold air. I do not thing that there is a leas because the compressor clutch is engaging, since the system is under pressure, if there was a leak then the pressure switch would not allow the compressor to engage. I also know that the system can not "leak a little" so if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear all of your ideas and suggestions (Tam & Lee keep your suggestions clean) (I know you two well enough to have an idea of what some of your suggestions will be.)

Thanks

Re: A/C question?

The system can engage even with low pressure if the low pressure switch is faulty. The system sounds like it's low. Check the pressure and recharge it if low.

The clutch will engage with as little as 15psi in the low side, and you don't get cold air out of it. I would attach a pressure gauge to the low side, you should have around 30 psi with the compressor running and the engine at idle. My 95 seems to perform best around 30, and I do believe that its the same system from 92-98...

Re: A/C question?

Knife, I didn't recharge the A/C, I've never had a problem with it until last week.

Thanks for the info. guys. I'll check out the low side as soon as I can.
