Oil Pressure

ok so i bought all of the stuff for the oil sending unit, the new unit the deep socket to take it out. Well everything was nice until the socket i bought was too small to take out the original oil pressure sender. so i got a pair of vice grips and went to werk and i got the old one to turn but it wouldnt come out it only spins HELp!!!! the truck still runs but the oil pressure still is not correct would like to change over to the new oil sender. any help would be greatly appreiciated thanks you in advance.

This is easier said than done, but the only solution that I've found for that problem will require a long flat screwdriver, and the right sized socket.

Loosen the sending unit off with the socket while wedging it out by twisting the screwdriver in there. There's usually enough room for this to work, and a air rachet makes it easier

I ran into the same problem, and went back and bought the larger socket as well. Sounds as if you've stripped the threads on the old unit at the fitting. Can you get a wrench on the fitting? If not, overboardproject's advice is about as good as it gets.

i hope i didnt strip n e thing but iono wat im gunna do. thank you for all the help

I don't want to make you feel bad, and you didn't do anything wrong, But something does have to be striped in there.

However don't worry, it's not that bad.
It's all pipe fittings there, and they are easy to work with. It's probably the sending unit anyways

I should have mentioned earlier to use some med strength Lock Tight, and follow the directions, then you shouldn't have any leaks. It shouldn't come out until next time you do the job then either.

Just be carefull that the lock tight isn't anywhere near where it might affect the new sensor (just in the threads)
