problems starting on hot days
I have a 91 intrgra...I 've noticed that on hot days when my car has been left out in the sun that the car sometimes won't start. The starter seems to work fine but the engine doesn't turn over. If I shake the car a bit and keep trying it eventually starts after a while. The car runs fine after that. Any ideas why?

Re: problems starting on hot days
I will bet you $$$ it's your main relay. It's under your dash driver side, says main relay. I read that whe they get hot you may have problems starting the car. I may be wrong, but they did kinda make them sucky back then.

Re: problems starting on hot days
I use to have that problem with my '95 Civic and it needed the distributor cap and rotor replaced, but same thing happened recently with my '92 GSR and I did the same replacement and didn't help, so I'm going with the main relay now. It should just be under the steering wheel and it's a large cube thing. I'll check my '92 and write later.
