C5 type Air Rams for C3s

Hey,

I've got a '79 L82 that has the dual snorkel air ram that comes into a standard circular air cleaner above the carb. I've looked through all the usual mags trying to find an upgrade air ram for C3s.

I love the look of the new aftermarket ram assemblies that you can get for C5 anc C6s.... does anyone know of any manufactures that make upgrade rams for C3s. Even if it only streamlines the air flow better I'd be happy...

Re: C5 type Air Rams for C3s

you could look at adapting an LT1 style air cleaner to your car. it goes to the same place as the LS1 cars intake and comes back as a single duct to the throttle body, youd have to do a little fabrication to mate it to your air cleaner though.

Re: C5 type Air Rams for C3s

however this modification would simply be visual, if your car already has a cold air setup, the LS1 or LT1 system would not offer any performance benifit, because its all just cold air inductions, the "ram" air title is a mislable. its impossible to "ram" air into an engine without forced induction. (not counting tuning for harmonic resonance, but that only works at a certain rpm range) just wanted to clear that up in case there was any confusion. weve run into that on the camaro board a few times.
