Weird left power mirror problem- Intermittent

97 ultra.. I have an intermittent problem with the power mirror on the drivers side. Sometimes when I unlock the doors via the remote, the drivers mirror will tilt all the way downward or upward and stay there. Sometimes I can press the memory one button and it will return to normal, and sometimes it won't. I can always move it back with the controls.

Anyone seen this before or know of a solution???

I have seen the second symptom that you described several times. When the memory button is pressed I sometimes get some wild moves on the driver's side mirror. It has not happend lately and if I remember correclty it happend last when it was very cold. It acts like there is an obstruction which is causing the motor to reset and re-cailbrate.

On the topic of drivers side mirrors, mine has become dis-colored and gives double immages. Does anyone have this problem?
