Re: is the new mustang a "good" car?

So far it has proven to be a great car. I have sat in it already and looked the whole thing over, but haven't been allowed to test drive yet. I know everyone has already read the article about an 05 GT doing a quartermile in the 12s for less than 2000. I was impressed by that, my car surely wouldn't do that. I also like the fact that it has a 5speed auto.

i was wondering how good it was also. im sure its fast, but it just doesn't seem fast to me. it looks heftier and more sluggish than the previous years. i want to believe its a fast car, but i just can't.

well true it is heavier, but it has a totally reworked suspension and drivetrain, even though it has a little more weight it is faster because of this than previous models, and much less sluggish. plus its dead sexy. and id suspect like previous mustangs always have been that itll be reliable too.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to drive it yet. But judging from reviews in Car & Driver, MotorTrend, and others it is not only the best mustang ever, but it is an awesome sports car all around. It is capable on a road track despite what some Stang-haters say. That's been proven in Grand-Am racing. Hey, even Ken Gushi has had some success with the new platform. I'd love to have one, I wouldn't depend on it to get me around in the winter months though.
