headlights won't turn off

have a 91 cherokke laredo HO. Started it in the morning and headlights came on without touching the switch. Won't go off now unless I disconnect battery or remove fuse!! Don't have daytime running as far as I know. There is something spliced into brown wire off of dimmer switch. Silver box screwed to underside of dash at left leg.PLEASE HELP. wiring harness is half stripped and I'm starting to get worried.

Re: headlights won't turn off

How long have you owned this rig? Try this: Start the engine push the light switch in if it is out. If it is not out, pull it out and then push it back in then turn off the motor. Check the lights and post the results.

Re: headlights won't turn off

There's a light module under the dash near the headlamp switch that allows the headlamps to remain on after you turn off the key for about 30 seconds or so. Maybe it's toast now.
