Re: ignition problems

Did you use a test light to check for power. If so, bad move. Your dealing with a computer which mainly deals with 5 ref volts. If you have one use a multimeter.
First check all your fuses, a test light is recomende d here.
Then, with your voltmeter and your key on and engine off, check for 5 volts on the white wire leading to your ignition module. If you don't have 5V here check your powers and grounds on your ecm.
It's also a good idea, if you have access, to check for codes via a scanner.
Also check the knock sensor for 12 volts and a good gnd.
Do you have any spark or none at all?

Re: ignition problems

You may have fried ignition module or a wire when it over heated.Only place i found that test them is Autozone.First Autozone had a bad tester.Found that out when their new icm off their shelf failed 2 test out of 6.Then i went to 2 other stores it passed.Crank sensor on mine is good too.But my ecm c5and c10 grounds are bad. I know they go Coolant temp, coolant level, maps and Egr but icant find exactly where they ground.I still have a no spark no injecter problem.Replaced Ecm with a new unit from Auto Zone but it too was defective off shelf with a power pin set in too far instantly popping ecm fuel relay fuse.3rd ecm from store looks ok but is still not working.Waiting for a Ecm i got off of Ebay for a lumina with the prom already in it.
