Automatic not shifting

When I start my car in the morning and put it into D4 it takes a little while to go into gear. Then when I start going it won't shift out of 1st but instead revs to almost 4000. Then it will do a hard shift. If I floor it at the go it doesn't do it though. It's not only in first either. Do I need new transmission fluid? I have about 123,000 miles on the car.

sadly it sounds like you need more than fluid. You probably need the transmission.I think aamco might do a free trans diagnostics, if theres not one nearby i am sure that some transmission places wont charge for a daignostics. But ask to be sure.

yeah, I just went to have the fluid checked and he said the fluid is fine. The guy next door to his shop is going to diagnostics tomorrow.

just a side note, once you get it all figured out and fixed, change your tranny fluid every other time you change your oil or everytime you change your oil. its so easy on hondas, my tranny drain plug is right next to my oil drain plug. very easy. just a side note like i said. good luck!!
