93 TPS and tranny problems

Just bought car. Car idles fast. Service Engine soon light was/is on. Jumpered ALDL pins and codes 21,22 (both TPS),and 44 (Lean Mixture) flashed on light. I plan to replace TPS since it measured open with ohmmeter.

Also the transmission, after sitting overnight, does not engage (no car movement in any gear position) until the engine has been running about 30 seconds and then all is well. The fluid looks good and healthy.

Could these problems be related? After I replace the TPS, is it possible that the transmission problem will be fixed too?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: 93 TPS and tranny problems

Sorry, they are not related. Sounds like the transmission has a internal pressure problem. When you start the car, put it in reverse or low gear and see if it goes into gear sooner.

Re: 93 TPS and tranny problems

Check your Transmission Modulator Valve.
Replace it, and adjust the screw inside of the new one.
20$ replacement part.
Transmission will feel like a diffrent ride.

Trust me....

Thats if its a pressure problem.

My 2 cents....
