Cheap clutches... opinions...
Hi guys, I've landed a reasonably good junkyard tranny ($200), putting it in soon ('95 5spd Tracer). Figured prob a good time to replace clutch parts too (has 200k mileso n it).
Most kits in parts houses eem to be in the $120-180 range... but I wonder about this guy here http://search.ebay.com/clutch-tracer...fsopZ1QQfsooZ1 Clearly its just a cheap kit, just wondering if anybody has any experience w/ these, reasonable opinions on buying "cheap" clutches etc. Don't race the car, has 200k miles and only worth *maybe* $1000 and don't plan to keep it rest of my life, so its just hard to rationalize spending any more more than necessary... |

Re: Cheap clutches... opinions...
You get what you pay for. I have no experience with the e-bay kit but an $85 kit will probably not hold up as long as the original clutch. The kit from autozone is only $120 with a lifetime warranty. The fact that the Autozone one is warranted is worth the extra $30.
