I've got the same problem. Mine was caused because the SIR coil was messed up when I disconnected the steering to replace the transmission .... found out too late that you can't turn the steering wheel if its not connected to the steering rack. It messes up the "clockspring" in the air bag coil that activates the airbag. My dealer quoted me $230 for a new coil and installation. You can do it yourself, but if you've never worked on an air bag system, I wouldn't recommend it. You need to remove the air bag, steering wheel and coil. If the coil isn't damaged, you need to rewind the spring and lock it in place. If it is damaged it must be replaced. Then re-install everything
Get some quotes from other dealers or a shop qualified to work on SIR systems. In the meantime, try not to have any head-on collisions
