Buick unreliable transmission (Part 2) - verdict by trans shop..

Seeing here some of inquiries, asking for help in minor 'should know and repair' makes me feel '..I wish I had their 'problems'..'
I just got a call from Transmission Shop informing me of the damage extent and costs.. By the way, this outfit is in buisiness for over 30 years, only three guys working there and therefore their ovehead is not as high as some big shops.
Verdict:
Planetary gear assemble destroyed, metal inside of transmission, he named more damage but me being ignorant about transmissions can not remeber all the details. Shortly. the trans has to be rebuilt (in damaged components) Cost? This job would cost me at dealer ($86.00 hour labour rate) over $ 3.500. They will do it for $ 1.800 (total cost) I done some aluminum welding for them after they changed the solenoid previously and hence the lover estimate.
Conclussion:
Be very carefull with purchase of the Buicks. If the trans can totaly give up at 54.000 km, automatically add another $ 3.000 to the purchase cost, you will need it at that milage to get going.
I am tottaly pi...off, of myself not to buy that extended warranty which the sales manager tried very hardly to sell it to me at the day of this Buick purchase.
Very dissapointed Buick owner..
