dash board problem

My son has a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu
the dash gauges all quit suddenly
no speedometer / gas / etc.

dealer says he needs a new dash .... 250.00 + labor

any thoughts ... experiences

do you mean gauge cluster/ my bu does the same thing but onle the temp gAUGE. but i comes back on after a while. my bro works for gm and he said that i might need a new cluster

sometimes this can happen because the plug for the cluster is loose try checking that before you pay any money

Verify that the fuse hasn't been blown. I would hope the dealer checked this already. If you do need a cluster I'd get one from a scrap yard.
