VSS Wire Location

Hi,

Just wonder if anyone knows where is the VSS wire in a 2005 Sierra Ext Cab V6? I'm trying to mount a gps system in there and it needs to tap into the VSS. Any imput is greatly apreciated.

Tom

really easy, behind the radio in the radio harness is a dark green wire .there may be 2 but use the wire that is by itself not the one with the light green wire. the dark green is the vss signal for the svc on your factory radio, even if your factory did not have svc it is still there, it may be one up or beside a purple wire. DO NOT TAP INTO ANY OTHER WIRES OTHER THAN DARK GREEN.if you are afraid of that then pull the cluster and it is the only dark green wire there.beware the skinny purple wires running all over that truck that wire is the data stream and if you touch that one bad things happen.

I cant find the dark green wire you are talking about. Do you happen to have a wiring diagram? Thanks a lot for your help!

you may have to go to the cluster for the vss signal,if your radio does not have one (weird).but it should still be a dark green wire.you could go under the hood to the cruise control module again dark green but pulling the cluster is only 4 -7mm bolts and it has a long harness on it and then all you wiring stays inside.

the cruise wiring is there on all trucks regardless because the cruise is built into the ecm, just add the cruise arm and plug it in and plug in the module under the hood and hook up the cable and you are done , no programming or anything, just get the parts from a wrecker.the plug will be taped up somewhere around the brake booster
